Intro
Dragon Ball is Japanese manga, not Korean manhwa. A list of eight to twelve Dragon Ball manhwa would misidentify the work, so this guide covers the three official VIZ reading pages instead. Chapter access may vary by location; check each page for current free and subscription options.
Rankings
1. Dragon Ball — Our score: 10/10
Start with young Goku’s original adventure. This is the best entry point if you want to follow the story from the beginning. Read it on VIZ Shonen Jump.
Why it’s great: Starting here gives Goku’s later battles their full context.
2. Dragon Ball Z — Our score: 9/10
Continue with the portion VIZ publishes as Dragon Ball Z. Its page lists free opening chapters and marks further chapters for members. Read it on VIZ Shonen Jump.
Why it’s great: It carries Goku’s adventure into larger battles while following the original story.
3. Dragon Ball Super — Our score: 8/10
Pick this up after the earlier Dragon Ball story. VIZ lists free chapters alongside chapters that require membership and directs readers to MANGA Plus for the latest free chapters where available. Read it on VIZ Shonen Jump.
Why it’s great: It offers more of Goku’s adventure through an official release.
